Aitkin Run to the Dump- Quarter Marathon and 5K

Aug 03, 2015

Security State Bank assisted with registering runners for the 28th Annual Run to the Dump.

The Run to the Dump Quarter Marathon (6.55 miles) sponsored by Paulbeck's County Market, takes runners through a scenic course on pavement, gravel road and a small section of trail. This nostalgic route takes us by the old dump, past "Smilin' Jim's Water Stop," as it comes out of the woods back to old 169, and north back to Aitkin. Although some consider it challenging, all consider it rewarding to find themselves crossing the finish line. This quarter marathon course if USATF certified along with the newly added 5K course.
